LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective: April 25, 2026
The plain-English version
Read it. Share it. Apply it. Don’t republish my work as your own. Don’t sue me if your business doesn’t grow because everything here is education, not advice. Use of this site means you agree to the terms below.
01Acceptance of these terms
By using jefflizik.com, subscribing to the Brief, downloading any resource, or otherwise interacting with content here, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, don’t use the site. Easy.
02What this site is
This site publishes commentary, frameworks, and resources on marketing strategy for owner-operators. It is owned and operated by Jeff Lizik. It is editorial in nature: opinions, analysis, and education. It is not a paid service, a coaching program, a guarantee, or a substitute for professional advice in your specific business situation.
For done-for-you marketing services, that’s a separate business: RedShift Digital Marketing. Different terms, different agreement.
03License to use the content
You’re granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read, save, and share content from this site for non-commercial purposes. That includes:
- Sharing a link to a page or article on social media or in an email.
- Quoting a sentence or two with proper attribution and a link back.
- Applying the frameworks and ideas inside your own business.
What’s not allowed without written permission:
- Republishing entire articles, frameworks, or downloads on another site, in a paid course, or in a book.
- Selling, sub-licensing, or repackaging any content.
- Stripping out my name and presenting the work as your own.
- Training AI/ML models on this site’s content without explicit written consent.
If you want to do something not on the “allowed” list, email jeff@jefflizik.com with subject [PERMISSION]. I’m friendly. Most reasonable requests get a yes.
04Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, graphics, code, design, frameworks, and downloadable resources, is owned by Jeff Lizik and protected by US and international copyright law.
The following are trademarks of Jeff Lizik:
- MA$$ Leverage™ — the marketing-as-asset framework
- The Marketing Asset Score™
- DME™ (Diagnose, Map, Execute)
- VTC™ (Vision, Traction, Compounding)
Reference these by their proper names with attribution. Do not rebrand them, white-label them, or remove the trademark symbols when publishing.
05The Brief (newsletter)
The Brief is free to subscribe to and free to read. By subscribing you agree to receive scheduled email content from me. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. After you unsubscribe, your address may stay in suppression for 12 months so I don’t accidentally re-add you.
The Brief sometimes mentions products, services, or tools I recommend. Some of those are affiliate links. Full details on the Disclosure page.
06This is not professional advice
Read this carefully
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax, accounting, or investment advice. Frameworks and ideas are educational. Your business is unique. Apply judgment, talk to qualified professionals for your specific situation, and own your own decisions.
I don’t know your industry, customers, margins, team, or risk tolerance. The case studies, examples, and benchmarks on this site are illustrative. Past results aren’t a guarantee of future outcomes. Yours could be better. They could be worse. They will not be identical to anyone else’s.
07No income or results guarantees
If a piece of content references revenue numbers, growth rates, or business outcomes, those are example results from specific situations. They are not promises about what your business will do. I make no guarantees, expressed or implied, about the financial results you will achieve by reading this site, applying its frameworks, or using its resources. Marketing depends on dozens of variables I have no control over: your offer, your team, your market, your timing, your effort.
08Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Jeff Lizik and any related entities are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or lost business opportunities, arising from your use of this site or its content. You use the information here at your own discretion and risk.
If a court decides liability cannot be excluded, the total liability owed to you for any claim related to this site is limited to USD $100.
09Links to other sites
This site links out to third-party sites, tools, and resources. I don’t control them. I’m not responsible for their content, their privacy practices, or what happens after you click. Always check what you’re agreeing to on the other side of a link.
10User conduct
When you use this site or contact me, you agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to interfere with site security or scrape content at scale.
- Send harassing, threatening, or abusive messages through any contact channel.
- Impersonate me, the brand, or any other person.
I reserve the right to block, remove, or restrict access to anyone violating these terms. No warning required.
11Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the Brief. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
13Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in full effect. The unenforceable part will be replaced with an enforceable provision that comes closest to the intent of the original.
